Afro-Colombian and Indigenous Peoples

WOLA’s program work attempts to shed light on the unique situations of these historically marginalized peoples, who suffer from some of the highest indices of poverty, social and economic exclusion, and internal displacement in the country. Afro-Colombian and indigenous peoples have unique rights to territory and autonomy under Colombian and international law, yet these norms are seldom applied.
