Colombia 

The Bush Administration has come to view Colombia and the administration of President Alvaro Uribe as its greatest, if not only, ally in the Andean region. Yet in spite of heavy US investment in mostly military aid to Colombia, this is still the country with the greatest number of human rights violations and highest number of politically motivated murders per year in the Western Hemisphere. WOLA’s Colombia program work attempts to provide information about and increase US attention and assistance to the victims of the internal armed conflict in Colombia, especially those groups hit hardest by political violence and internal displacement.
