Nicaragua: Players Take Their Places (1978)

Less than a year before Sandinista forces overthrew the Somoza dynasty, WOLA published a report on Nicaragua's political and social forces, including the Somoza government's opponents, the Church and the National Guard, and the role of the United States in the gathering conflict.  The report criticized the Carter Administration's lingering "signals of support" for some aspects of the doomed Somoza government after Congress had urged the U.S. administration to halt all aid.
