WOLA and USOC call on U.S. and Colombian officials to act on attacks against human rights defenders in Colombia

In a letter to U.S. and Colombian officials, WOLA and USOC describe more than a dozen attacks of human rights defenders which occurred in Colombia in a one month period. The two organizations call for action by the Colombian government to investigate and prosecute these crimes, and to take measures to prevent other such attacks. In June, WOLA and USOC met with Carlos Franco, of the Colombian Presidential Program for Human Rights, to deliver this letter and express their deep concern over the human rights situation in Colombia.
