WOLA urges Congress to support the International Fund for Agricultural Development

As the cost of food in Latin America continues to rise, WOLA reiterates its support for the International Fund for Agricultural Development's efforts to reduce poverty and promote rural development in Latin America and throughout the developing world.

The U.S. NGO Working Group on the International Fund  for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and Rural Poverty, of which WOLA is a member, recently wrote to Congress, urging it to continue supporting the IFAD in FY 2009.

As the only international organization dedicated to the reduction of rural poverty, the IFAD is uniquely positioned to carry out agricultural and rural development in the developing world.
