Letter to President Obama on Cuba

In a letter to President Obama, several human rights and policy organizations outline Pre-Summit of the Americas priorities regarding the United States’ relationship with Cuba.  Beyond fulfilling his campaign promise on Cuban-American family travel and remittances, the letter encourages the President to consider diplomatic initiatives and to engage Cuba on areas of mutual interest such as migration talks, law enforcement, hurricane prediction, counter-narcotics efforts and military-to-military cooperation.  These steps would be welcomed and encouraged by regional leaders with whom President Obama will meet at the Summit.
