President Zelaya’s Return to Honduras

The Washington Office on Latin America understands that President Manuel Zelaya has returned to Honduras. Given the polarized situation in the country, WOLA calls on all sides to refrain from violence and to negotiate a peaceful return to Constitutional order.

"Tensions could escalate very quickly," said Vicki Gass, WOLA's Senior Associate for Rights and Development, who recently returned from a trip to Honduras.  "We urge everyone to resist the use of violence."

WOLA experts are following developments and are available for commentary and analysis on the issue.
