Analysis of Executions and/or Violent Deaths of children and young people in Honduras September – October 2008

The data and statistics of violence in Honduras are shocking, every three and a half hours a Honduran is murdered, ranking Honduras as one of the three most violent countries in Central America.  Honduras’ rate of 42 homicides per 100,000 easily surpasses the estimations made by the Pan American Health Organization for the region of 18 homicides per 100,000.

The statistics from the records in this report by Casa Alianza Honduras,  show that 78 young people below the age of 23 suffered violent deaths during the months of September to October of 2008; 4,430 young people have died violently from January 1998 to October 2008.
