Ecuador’s New Drug Law

Ecuador's El Comercio newspaper recently published an op-ed by Coletta Youngers, WOLA's Senior Fellow, on the need to reform Ecuador's current drug law.

The op-ed enumerates the problems caused by the country's current drug law and argues that to be more effective, a serious reform reestablishing the proportionality of sentences and ensuring access to an adequate legal defense is urgently needed. To read the full article click here .
