Peruvian Group Launches Website on Fujimori Trial

The Lima-based Pro Human Rights Association (APRODEH) has launched a Website with a wide variety of information about the coming trial of former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori.

The site’s Web address is www.juicioysancionafujimori.org. It is currently available only in Spanish.

An excellent resource, the site offers the latest news on the Fujimori trial, which is due to begin on December 10, as well as documents, news articles and other information about the charges faced by the former leader.

Elected president in 1990, Fujimori will be tried in a special tribunal in Lima following his extradition from Chile on seven charges, including those for human rights violations related to the massacres of Barrios Altos (1991) and La Cantuta (1992) and cases related to illegal detentions in the basement of the Army Intelligence Services during his rule.
