We are pleased to invite you to the Afro-Latinx Short Film Screening for the 3rd Annual Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Legislative Conference Short Film Festival. Congressman Henry C. “Hank” Johnson, Jr. will present the films The Silent Scream, based on displaced Afro-Colombians, and On Our Land: Being Garifuna in Honduras, based on the Afro-descendant indigenous Garifuna community of Honduras.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring actor Danny Glover and guests from Colombia and Honduras.

From Colombia, Marino Cordoba, featured in The Silent Scream, and Richard Moreno, Attorney for Ethnic Matters in the Office of the Attorney General of Colombia, will discuss the film and the issues surrounding Afro-Colombian communities today.
