On December 23, 2013, the UN General Assembly proclaimed that 2015 to 2024 is the International Decade for People of African Descent, recognizing that this population represents a distinct group whose human rights must be promoted and protected. Join WOLA, the Institute on Race and Equality, and Afro-descendant leaders from Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, Peru, and Panama, to discuss the current situation of Afro-descendant communities in the Americas.
