Kathy Gille

Kathy Gille advises WOLA’s staff on communications strategy, helping to ensure that WOLA’s expertise in policy analysis and advocacy connects with key audiences in Washington and elsewhere.

Ms. Gille worked for 20 years in the U.S. House of Representatives where she served as Executive Floor Assistant and Senior Advisor for Policy and Communications for the Democratic Whip, David Bonior. She supervised vote-counting, legislative strategy, media and message development for the number two Democrat in the House leadership. During her years on Capitol Hill, she also served as associate staff for the House Rules Committee, speechwriter and legislative assistant for foreign policy.

In the 1980s, Ms. Gille staffed the House Leadership Taskforce on Central America, working on legislative strategy to end military aid and to support the peace process initiated by leaders in the region.

Since leaving Capitol Hill, she has worked as a strategic consultant with non-profits, advocacy and political organizations. She is a certified leadership coach and a facilitator helping to support people who work for social change.
