WOLA: Advocacy for Human Rights in the Americas

Who Favors Change?

Who Favors Change?

The majority of people in the U.S. continue to support a change in the current policy. Several sectors have been particularly involved in pushing for more open relations and an eventual end to the embargo. These sectors include: academics, religious groups, agricultural interests, Cuban-Americans, artists, and people in the medical field. Of particular interest is that the Cuban-American community (in and outside of Miami), who have traditionally supported hard-line policies toward Cuba, are now increasingly beginning to speak out against the injustices and ineffectiveness of current U.S. policies. WOLA collaborates with and assists these various sectors in their work to educate Congressional offices as well as the larger policy making community in Washington D.C.
