Chloe Halprin is the Grant Writer and Researcher at WOLA, where she manages the organization’s grants portfolio and supports the cultivation of institutional partnerships. She is passionate about using storytelling to secure the resources that fuel the work of advancing human rights. Before joining the team, Chloe was the Grants Manager at a community-based nonprofit serving refugees in Southeast Michigan.
Chloe’s interest in and knowledge of Latin America were shaped, in part, by her time as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in southern Mexico. There, she taught at el Instituto Tecnológico de Chetumal and volunteered with Na’atik Language and Culture Institute, supporting the trilingual nonprofit school by building out a prospective grants portfolio.
Chloe earned her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and English with a minor in Law, Justice, and Social Change from the University of Michigan. As a student, she interned virtually with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees based in Cusco, Peru. Beyond her work at WOLA, Chloe volunteers as a Child Advocate with the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights and at a free legal aid clinic for immigrants in Detroit.
