Daniela Chaparro

Daniela Chaparro is the Marketing Coordinator at the Washington Office on Latin America, where she provides support for the Development and Communications team. She was born in Caracas, Venezuela and graduated from the University of Maryland (UMD) with a Bachelor’s in Communications.

Prior to joining WOLA full time, Daniela was a Communications Intern at WOLA during the Fall 2019 and Summer 2020 semester, where she developed digital media skills and supported the team throughout various projects. Later, she became a part-time Assistant for the Development team and the Women and Incarceration program in which she provided support in the 2020 virtual Gala and helped design reports, amongst other tasks.

While at UMD, Daniela became passionate about communications and human rights issues in her home country of Venezuela and in Latin America. Her interest’s led her to focus on research related to how different audiences are influenced by human rights and social justice issues presented in the media.
