104 Members of Congress Call for Review of U.S.-Cuba Policy

More than 100 Members of Congress called on Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to review U.S.-Cuba policy today as Fidel Castro, Cuba's head of state, announced he would not seek re-election.

'Our policy leaves us without influence at this critical moment, and this serves neither the U.S. national interest nor average Cubans, the intended beneficiaries of our policy. A complete review of U.S. policy is clearly in order now,'' the lawmakers said.

The letter, signed by 104 members of Congress, was spearheaded by Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA), Rep. William Delahunt (D-MA), Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (R-MO) and Rep. Jeff Flake (R-AZ).
