WOLA congratulates the National Indigenous Organization of Colombia (Organización Nacional Indígena de Colombia, ONIC) on its thirtieth anniversary. Despite centuries of systematic abuses against indigenous peoples, the ONIC’s work has been fundamental in protecting vulnerable populations and promoting indigenous rights.
WOLA has worked closely with the ONIC for several years as part of an international advocacy strategy to draw more attention to the plight of indigenous peoples in Colombia, and we look forward to continuing this important work.
