Lisette Alvarez

Lisette Alvarez coordinates digital strategy across WOLA’s various platforms to amplify the organization’s work and campaigns on human rights in Latin America. Working closely alongside the Communications team and program staff, Lisette oversees and develops meaningful, digital-savvy content for WOLA’s diverse audiences.

Before joining WOLA, Lisette was employed as a digital strategist with WDG, a DC-area digital agency. At WDG, Lisette guided clients from across industries to modernize their digital presence, facilitated SEO and writing for web workshops, and launched successful digital marketing campaigns. Lisette also spearheaded WDG’s foray into podcasting and helped expose the agency’s internal content strategy to innovative mediums and tools. 

At Florida State University, Lisette participated in an undergraduate research project on the intersection of film, civic action, and social media in India. At George Washington University, Lisette’s graduate group capstone focused on how new media might be used to combat youth unemployment in South Africa. Lisette has also received training in audio storytelling at AIRMedia’s Full Spectrum Storytelling Intensive. Lisette is frequently invited to speak at podcast conferences and events across the United States, especially on the topics of marginalization, inclusion, identity and fiction in audio storytelling.
